JOHN HANRAHAN - STRENGTH & WELLNESS
John Hanrahan is one of the nation's top wellness professionals with outstanding experience in the health and fitness arena and a track record of leadership that has provided a positive health effect on thousands.
He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he studied exercise science while also earning multiply NCAA All American honors as a student-athlete. He is a UWW/ United World Wrestling Gold Medalist, winning the 2016 veteran world championship in Walbrych, Poland.
In 1993 John successfully assisted in developing and grand-opening New York City’s ultra-exclusive La Palestra Center for Preventative Medicine (Vanity Fair featured the facility as “A Shrine to Fitness”). Hanrahan then launched his own Private Training venture in Los Angeles where he attracted an A-List Hollywood stable of notable clients and pro athletes. Allure magazine took notice and promptly proclaimed John Hanrahan as the "Best Personal Trainer in Los Angeles", while GQ featured Hanrahan as “The Guy You Should Know for Fitness”.
In 2008 John launched and directed the national wellness program for Atlanta based MedAssets Inc, organizing corporate health solutions for over 3000 employees in 19 nationwide locations. His initiatives and program leadership resulted in dramatic improvements, motivating a high percentage of the obese employee population to improved BMI category ratings.
John is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a Mattes Certified Stretch Therapist and also holds CCS and CPT certification credentials through the NSPA. John has been named by Men’s Journal, Glamour, Self, Men’s Health and other national publications as one of America’s top fitness trainers. He has also served as a featured presenter at the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s annual convention for fitness professionals.
Hanrahan designs and directs programs to enhance the performance of a wide variety of athletes who are looking for performance at the optimal level.
John has prepped elite athletes; to ascend the heights of Mt Everest, to battle in the UFC octagon, to dominate in the NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA arenas. Private Training's programs has also helped non-athletes take on and conquer their initial sport or activity goal like a 5K, a marathon, or even an improved golf game.
